Parent Agreement & School Policies
Welcome to Discovery Kids Preschool! We look forward to a wonderful year of learning, growing, and making memories with your child.
To help create a safe, positive, and organized preschool experience for everyone, we ask all families to review and agree to the following policies.
1. Registration Fee
A $100 nonrefundable registration fee is required for each child enrolled at Discovery Kids Preschool.
2. Tuition & Payment Policies
Tuition is divided into 10 equal monthly payments, August through May, regardless of holidays or absences.
Monthly Tuition Rates:
-
2-Day Classes (Tuesday/Thursday): $165 per month
-
3-Day Classes (Monday/Wednesday/Friday): $215 per month
Tuition is due on the 1st of each month. Payments received on or after the 6th are considered late, and a $15 late fee will be charged.
Sibling Discount: Families with more than one child enrolled receive a $10 monthly tuition discount per child. For example, families with twins receive a total discount of $20 each month.
3. Withdrawal Policy
If you need to withdraw your child from Discovery Kids Preschool, we require one month's advance notice.
If one month's notice is not provided, families agree to pay an additional month's tuition before withdrawal.
4. Emergency Medical Care
Your child's safety and well-being are always a priority.
In the event of an emergency, parents authorize Discovery Kids Preschool to administer appropriate first aid as needed.
Parents are responsible for any costs associated with physician services, paramedics, or emergency medical care.
5. Positive Guidance & Behavior
We believe children learn best in a caring, supportive environment where they feel safe and respected.
Our teachers use positive guidance, redirection, and age-appropriate time-outs when necessary. Time-outs will not exceed one minute per year of the child's age.
If a child is experiencing ongoing behavioral challenges, parents may be contacted during school hours. A parent-teacher conference may be scheduled to develop a supportive action plan, particularly when behaviors such as hitting, biting, or difficulty following safety rules affect the classroom.
6. Enrollment & Program Expectations
We want every child to have a successful preschool experience.
If the Preschool Director determines that a child is unable to adjust to the program or that the Parent Agreement has not been followed, Discovery Kids Preschool may discontinue enrollment.
In situations where a child's behavior poses an immediate danger to themselves, other children, or staff, Discovery Kids Preschool reserves the right to discontinue enrollment immediately.
7. Drop-Off & Pick-Up Safety & Procedures
Your child's safety is important to us! To help keep our parking lot safe and our drop-off and pick-up process running smoothly, please follow these procedures.
Morning Drop-Off
Watch for your child's teacher to place their matching class sign in the preschool window. Once the sign is displayed, please form a line behind the white line in the parking lot, facing the preschool.
Cars will pull forward one at a time to the orange cones, where your child's teacher will come to your vehicle to greet and assist your preschooler.
Please make sure your child is safely under the teacher's supervision before leaving.
Afternoon Pick-Up
At dismissal, your child's teacher will bring your preschooler directly to your vehicle.
Once your child is in the car, please pull forward into an available parking space before getting out to securely buckle your child into their car seat.
This helps keep our pick-up line moving safely and efficiently for all families!
If someone other than a parent or guardian will be picking up your child and they will not have the car sign, please notify your child's teacher at drop-off.
8. Illness & Staying Healthy
To help keep our preschool community healthy, please keep your child home when they are sick.
If your child becomes ill during preschool, a parent or guardian will be contacted and may be asked to pick them up.
Thank you for helping us maintain a healthy environment for all our preschoolers and teachers!
9. Potty Training & Extra Clothing
All children attending Discovery Kids Preschool must be potty-trained and able to use the restroom independently, without teacher assistance.
Our staff is happy to help students get to and from the restroom. We can assist with zippers, buttons, and handwashing, but each preschooler must be able to use the toilet and wipe independently.
We also ask that each child keep a complete change of clothing in their backpack in case of spills or accidents.
10. Timely Pick-Up
Please make every effort to pick up your child promptly at their scheduled dismissal time.
We appreciate your consideration of our teachers and their schedules. A 5-minute grace period is provided after your child's scheduled pick-up time. After this grace period, a late fee of $1 per minute will be charged.
Thank you for helping us keep our pick-up process running smoothly!
11. Birthday Celebrations
We love celebrating birthdays at Discovery Kids Preschool! To help keep all our preschoolers safe, especially those with food allergies, we ask families not to send food or treats for birthday celebrations.
If you'd like to send something special for your child's classmates, you're welcome to bring 10 small, non-food gifts, such as stickers, bubbles, bouncy balls, or pencils.
Thank you for helping us make birthdays fun, safe, and inclusive for everyone!
12. Procare App & Tuition Payments
Discovery Kids Preschool uses the Procare App for tuition payments and account management. All families are required to download the app.
Families can securely add a credit card and choose to set up automatic monthly payments or make payments manually using their preferred card.
There are no additional fees for credit card payments through Procare.
Important: Procare invitations expire after 24 hours, so please complete your setup promptly after receiving yours.
13. Cleanliness & Sanitizing Procedures
At Discovery Kids Preschool, we take extra steps throughout the day to maintain a clean, welcoming environment for our little learners.
-
Hand Hygiene: Preschoolers' hands are sanitized upon arrival and at every classroom rotation.
-
Classroom Cleaning: Tables are wiped down after every class.
-
Daily Sanitizing: All classrooms are treated twice daily with an electrostatic sprayer that applies a fine mist of disinfectant, which dries within minutes.
-
Weekly Deep Cleaning: Toys, tables, chairs, and storage bins are individually cleaned by hand each week.
These routines help us create a clean, comfortable environment where children can focus on learning, playing, and having fun!
